EETimes.com - Hollywood blamed for scientific ignorance

EETimes.com - Hollywood blamed for scientific ignorance

What would these guys say if they watched any of Rajni's movies?Almost every fight sequence in the movie or smart moves from the hero would defy all laws of physics!

Yet another birthday

I have never been fond of celebrating birthdays, may be its because thats how I have been brought up since childhood.I don't remember a single time when I cut a cake or called for a party during my birthday when I was a kid.

But it started changing once I started college.Friends lovingly bought a cake every birthday and made sure I got the whole year's worth of kicks and beatings for all the wisecracks, gimmicks and leg pulling I'd done the whole year.
But still I always wanted to get through the cake cutting part as it somehow made me the center of all eyes, which was never a comfortable feeling for me.

The last few birthdays also followed the same pattern of cake-cutting followed by cake smearing over the face and then a few rounds of kicks. But then this year,I sent a request to my friends to skip all that and they thankfully obliged.
So this time it was a silent birthday which was just another day, which is how I like Birthdays to be.

Some people say that its the thought of nearing 30 years of age that makes one lose interest in keeping tab of birthdays or think of avoiding the celebrations. But in my case, thats really not it.Not that I have great expectations out of me,but then I feel that theres nothing great being achieved with each passing year that 1 has to celebrate it.Kids celebrating it is a different thing,as it was a day when they get to have new clothes, chocolates etc.

The only few good aspects of my birthday I feel are the thoughtful birthday wishes that I receive from my friends and relatives and the blessings/Wishes from my parents and their benevolent act of donating something to their local old-age home or orphanage to mark the occasion.
