U.S Presidential elections 2008!

Day by day its getting nastier but interesting!
I watched the movie Primary Colors yesterday and was fascinated yet again for the candid,no nonsense representation of reality that goes behind the presidential nominee's election campaigns and the way the candidates have advisors and fact finders trying to take a deep dive into the remotest areas of the canditate's history to paint a bad picture.
The same thing is happening now.

AFP: Obama hurls new anti-Clinton broadsides

Obama Campaign Decries Clinton S.C. Ad | The Trail | washingtonpost.com

My take on all this. Not that it matters to anyone.
Its yet another drama after the one we saw the last time involving Bush and Kerry.
Poor Obama.Hes only ging to be left gasping for his breath after all this hardwork! Its all decided already. The former first lady has all the backing to be the next president. They might be able to pull it off by any means.

Looking at how the Clintons have been conducting themselves as if they are devoid of any historical goof ups,I am reminded of the dialogue from Primary Colors
The blood Dr. Beauregard took wasn't from you. . .
it was from Uncle Charlie.
You sent him in your place. . .
. . .because Dr. Beauregard loves you
and wants to teach those Yankees a lesson'
He doesn't love you enough to lose his license.
Once he knows I have proof, he'll fold.
That won't prove you' re the father of Loretta's baby.
In fact, I think you' re not.
But it proves you thought you might be.
And that proves you f***** her.
And that will kill your chances.
You would do that?
You would end his political career?
You see, Jack?
She hasn't even heard.
She isn't even upset that you fucked your -year-old babysitter.
And you know why?
It's never the cheat who goes to hell .
It's always the one who he cheated on.
That's why you still talk in that tender voice
about being in it for the folks. . .
. . .and Susan can only talk in that voice from hell
about your ppolitical career.
Now what kink of shit is that, Jack?!

Oh, excuse me. I forgot.
It's the same old shit.
The shit no one ever calls you on, ever.
Because you are so completely f****** special !
Because everyone was always so proud of you.
Me, too. Me, the worst.
It just makes it a lot easier for me.
I mean, it's totally depressing.
What have I been doing this for my whole, pathetic, fucking life?!

Its all a Stupid drama!A reality show at a bigger level with the outcome already decided by the select few.I pity the stupid participants in the contest and the general public which is following all o this like mad dogs and thinking that their vote is finally going to matter.Good thing is I don't even have the right to vote and I am just a watcher of all this melodrama.

Are you ready to buy the new Tata Nano?

Are you ready to buy the new Tata Nano?

CNN IBN States that
Tata plans to give the car to the dealers for Rs 1 lakh. You will pay a value added tax or vat of Rs 12,500, a road tax of Rs 4,000 and an insurance of about Rs 3,500.

And all of this total up to Rs 1,20,000 on the road price.

But if you take a car loan, how much will it cost you in EMI's?

If you get a loan of Rs one lakh for five years then you will have to pay about Rs 2,200 per month.

But then Its scary to even think of the already chocking Indian roads. Now every Tom,dick and Hari in India will think of getting into his own new car and take it for a spin.

This article puts it aptly:"With Cars in Reach, Indians Must Learn to Drive"

I wonder if the Govt even considered the after effects of such a car in India. Its okay to market such a car in countries where the roads are ready to take it,but to proudly introduce it in an already traffic problem laden Indian roads is utter stupidity. With the BPO crowd and even the fresh Software Engineers earning close to 2 Tata Nanos a month in salaries,it wouldn't take even 2 months for these folks to get their hands onto one or 2 of these cars.I pity the Bangalore roads!

Just add a few Nano's to this already crazy driving routine. Its mind boggling to even think of the number of extra accidents and hold ups it would cause.

So,I guess a lot of people might be thinking of saying Byebye to the Indian roads considering the onslaught of these not so Nanos.

Six Ways Stores Trick us Into Spending More!

Six Ways Stores Trick You Into Spending More

Upon reading that article,I smiled quietly with a sense of acknowledgement over every point it made.
How gullible the consumers are and how shamelessly the stores come up with such gimmicks!
Its easy to make money in America and its easier to lose it!
A walk through the Mall or a day of spending at a supermarket is akin to a journey with a hole in the pant pocket with coins spilling all along the way.The bad thing is that we seem to be totally oblivious to the daylight robbery that the stores do in the name of sale and discounts!
I guess its not wrong to hit back at them!Looking out for deals/coupons don't seem bad anymore! The sense of achievement at the end of any transaction where it feels that the seller has not cheated me,is something enjoyable and well treasured for a long time. But then these happenings are quite rare!
