Life (Forward)

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got
together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned
into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee,
the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee
and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking
and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot
coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If
you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving
behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want
only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and
stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you
consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups."

"Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in
society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the
quality of Life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the
cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

So please, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee.......

Dell..ta problem..

With laptops exploding left and right, how long is it going to take for the airport authorities to ban laptops from being taken inside an aircraft.May be they could install checks around security screens looking for 'Dell' laptops with Sony batteries.
NY Times has an article about business travellers annoyed about the idea of banning laptops on aircrafts.Did these guys take even a few seconds to think of the repurcussions of an exploding laptop inside the aeroplane?
Do they have fire extinguishers inside planes?
I have been reading a lot of stories about exploding laptops. One of the stories was about how 2 guys lost their grandpa's truck when the explosives that they had on the truck exploded when a dell laptop provided the necessary sparks.Another latest story was how a guy's house was completely burnt down supposedly due to the laptop which lay on his couch giving out fumes.

I am only reminded of the good old advice that I often get from my parents...
"Be careful with fire.Don't go near burning stuff!"

I am DMX...

" da da da da da da da..
da da da da da da da.." - Who we be!

One of the very strongly worded dirty lyrics filled rap number from DMX..
My friends and I at Lubbock used to watch this song regularly on BET and smile whenever DMX used to scream these words

"My mother, my father, I love 'em, I hate 'em (uhh!)
Wish God, I didn't have 'em, but I'm glad that he made 'em"

Somehow it used to seem so funny, but then this song aptly depcits the state of many african american kids in the U.S!

Y'all go make me lose my mind..Up in here..Up in here

DMX....
Very dirty lyrics, but the tempo that the song carries all the way is simple superb.Used to make us all stare at the TV till the very end of the song with the foot automatically tapping along the course!
Again not the original video.

Enya - Book of days

An awesome live perforamnce from Enya!
Simple lyrics but very melancholically sung...

Lyrics for Book of days

One day, one night, one moment,
my dreams could be, tomorrow.
One step, one fall, one falter,
east or west, over earth or by ocean.
One way to be my journey,
this way could be my Book of Days.
Ó lá go lá, mo thuras,
an bealach fada romham.
Ó oíche go hoíche, mo thuras,
na scéalta nach mbeidh a choích.

No day, no night, no moment,
can hold me back from trying.
I'll fly, I'll fall, I'll falter,
I'll find my day may be, Far and Away.
Far and Away.
One day, one night, one moment,
with a dream to believe in.
One step, one fall, one falter,
and a new earth across a wide ocean.
This way became my journey,
this day ends together, Far and Away.
This day ends together, Far and Away.
Far and Away.

Evanescence - Bring me to Life

This is also a song which I'd heard quite a lot of times but just now got a chance to see the video.Strickingly similar to Dido's video where the female ventures out in the dark to discover something wild!

If you care for the lyrics :

"Bring Me To Life"
(feat. Paul McCoy)

how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I’ve become so numb without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

frozen inside without your touch without your love darling only you are the life among the dead

all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

Adiemus by Enya & a glimpse of Afghanistan

We've all heard of Afghanistan so many times in the past few years, but never have got much of an idea as to how the place looks and how the people there go about their lives.
Heres a wonderful video with some beautiful pictures than an U.S soldier stationed in Afghanistan has captured. To top it all, theres Enya's Adiemus playing in the background!

Heres what the original poster of the video has to say about the clip :

Here are some of the most beautiful pictures my brother sent back from his 7 month deployment in Afghanistan while serving for the United ... all » States Marine Corps USMC. He was stationed all throughout this beautiful country training the Afghan National Army to better defend themselves and restore peace in the country. Some cities and surrounding areas include Kabul, Jalalabad, Sarkani, Khowigiani, Pole Charkhi, Achin, Manas, Mehtar Lam, Nuristan Province, Wuzbin, and the Hindu Kush Mountain Range. The Marines have been a huge factor in the war on terror and are doing a great job. Unlike the US Media stories, most Afghans are happy that the US is in the country trying to make it better. I hope you all enjoy this short clip and share it with your friends and family.

The song I chose is called Adiemus by Enya. I don't think there's a better song that could bring these pictures to life.

911 Prophecy

I landed on this page when I searched for Enya.I simple love the "Only time" music.Watch out for the background music (from the 2 minute 45 sec part of the clip), even if you don't like the video.
This video instead intrigued me for its interesting prophecy.More details about this here at 911prophecy.com

When does one blog?

Its funny I never had to think about this before.I used to blog whenever I wanted and from wherever I was, when I felt like blogging.
But nowadays,I don't feel like blogging from home nor from work.More than the feeling, its the paucity of time on my side that blogging needs. There is also this diminishing urge to express any personal view.

Previously these were my most "blogged" occasions of the week.
-On any evening between 7 to 11 pm when I used to sit in front of the Computer,watching/listening occasionally to whatever was on TV.
-On saturday and Sunday mornings, when there was nothing much even on TV and all I had to do was just day dream about anything on earth and capture part of it in my blog.
-Friday afternoons at work, just like now, when the whole office went silent from people who'd already gone into the weekend mood and I had no emails or tasks requiring my attention.
-At times it used to be instantaneously when I find something very interesting.I would not bother to note if it is a monday morning busy office time or if it was a friend's place where I'd come for dinner.

What abt nowadays?
-On any evening between 7 to 11 pm,I still sit in front of the computer, but watch TV more than browse through the internet.
-On saturday and Sunday mornings, its become more of household chores and chattin/calling folks in India or some random activity such as going to the temple or the mall.
-Friday afternoons at work:I still don't hear much voices around my cube, but I spend time working on some random stuff and surfing around Inquirer/marketwatch for most of the time.
-The instantaneoous urge to blog has died down. The question arises as to who is this going to benefit and is thw world going to change if I don't blog this?

The anonimity that was my favorite part of blogging has pretty much vanished and I guess its time for setting up a new bloger id and start from the beginning writing anything and everything that came to mind, without thinking too much about the consequence of whatever being written.
