cheeni kum....Chennai 600028...Maayakannadi...and more

Managed to watch these movies in the last 2 weeks.
Cheeni Kum : Big B still continues to manage to carry an entire film over his shoulders!I think he seemed to occupy around 95% of the film's duration at times boring.Tabu manages to go through her role with not too much to do.The small kid that kept yapping all through the movie did not gel well with the movie at all.If it was there in the movie to evoke sympathy among the viewers,it miserably failed. It seemed kind of too talkative and a rehearsed vomitting of dialogues compared to other performances of kids such as the one who played in 'Black' or the lovely Abigail Breslin from the Enlish movie 'Little Miss sunshine'.It was may be my aversion to the stereotyped Hindi films or something, this film didn't quite strike much.

Chennai 600028..
The movie started off very well reminding all the way of good old chennai and its street cricket frenzy. The characters seemed to be so perfect and suited well to the story. The use of cricket as the background seemed to be a great ploy until it began to go out of control and seemed to be annoying in the end.The language used in the movie reminded of the old galeej madras baashai. It was overall an ok movie. The songs were good to listen to.

Maayakannaadi..
The expectations were high for this movie as it was coming from Cheran, but it ended up being just another normal movie.Nothing great in the movie at all.The pathetic day to day life of a middle class person in Chennai was well portrayed and the message that it is difficult to survive was easily understandable within the first few minutes into the movie, but Cheran kind of dragged it too much to prove his point.
On the whole,slightly boring movie.

I also watched Unnaalae Unnaalae today.
Again a movie which would have been complete within 1 hr was being dragged without a clear cut ending for 2 n half hours. The hero looked good and Sadha seemed to resemble Simran at times when she wore glasses. The music was good , albeit being the same repetitive tunes from Harris Jeyaraj.

So many movies are being watched in the recent weeks and none of them bear any class. Finally I also watched 'Karupaswamy kuthagaithaarar;.Good performance from Karan but bad story. It was very boring in the second half.
